What does it mean to be a member?
Church membership is more than having one’s name in the membership book. It indicates participation and commitment. In fact, there are six ways we can demonstrate our commitment to the Lord’s Church. If a person is a part of a local congregation, we believe they will be involved in these areas:
• Consistent prayer for the welfare of the church (Phil 1:3, 4)
• Enthusiastic Evangelism of the Lost People in their Sphere of Influence (Matthew 28:18-20)
• Regular attendance at services and events (Heb 10:25)
• Positive encouragement for other members (Rom 14:19)
• Meaningful service based on our gifts and abilities (1 Peter 4:10)
• Committed stewardship with our time, talents and finances (2 Cor 9:6-8)
